Bristol-Myers Squibb Tour of Hope

October 1-9, 2004

The Bristol-Myers Squibb Tour of Hope™ is a week-long journey across America by a team of 20 people who have been touched by cancer.  The Tour of Hope Team will cycle relay-style around the clock in teams of 5 from LA to DC to inform the public about the importance of cancer clinical trials.

Throughout their journey, the Team will stop at cancer centers to encourage people to make the Promise – a personal commitment to learn more about cancer and the benefit of cancer clinical trials. The Tour of Hope Team includes 20 cyclists who have a passion for cancer research. They are survivors, caregivers, healers, and researchers who share one mission—to help future generations move closer to a cure.  Kathy Parker, Professor of Geography at the University of Georgia, is a member of this year’s team.

Follow the team’s progress from October 1 to October 9, read about the Team, and make the Promise on the Bristol-Myers Squibb Tour of Hope™ web site.  Visit the links below for a physical geography “virtual tour” of the route as the team cycles across the country.
