(A) Required Core Courses – Three courses (9 credits) (The semester(s) the course is offered is shown in parenthesis)

GEOG 6370 Introduction to Geographic Information Systems (F,S,Su)
GEOG 6470 Geographic Analysis and GIS (S)
GEOG 8570 Seminar in GIS (F) OR GEOG 8350 Remote Sensing with GIS Applications

    (B) Two elective courses (6 credits) from the following list, one of which must be 8000 level:

ENGR 5930/7930 GPS with Engineering and GIS Applications
GEOG 6060 Field and Laboratory Methods in Physical Geography
GEOG 6310-6310L Cartographic Design and Reproduction
GEOG 6350 Remote Sensing of Environment (S)
GEOG 6380 Transportation Modeling and GIS (F)
GEOG 6410-6410L Cartographic Visualization Methods (F)
GEOG 6430 Advanced Photogrammetry (S, alternating years)
GEOG/CRSS 6375 GIS Applications in Agriculture
GEOG 8350 Remote Sensing with GIS Applications (F, alternating years)
GEOG 8450 Geospatial Tools in Landscape Analysis (S)
GEOG 8510 Seminar in Cartography (S)
GEOG 8530 Advanced Topics in the Use and Interpretation of Aerial     Photographs
GEOG 8570 Seminar in GIS (F)

(C) Two credits from GEOG 6990 - Internship in GIS with a private firm or government agency, OR a GIS research or applied project conducted under an 8000-level course. For students wishing to use a geography course, GEOG 8590 - Directed Problems in Geographic Techniques meets this requirement.  Approval of the Internship and/or the GIS research project required by GIS Certificate Committee prior to the student taking these courses.
